The Blacksmith

I wrote three versions of this poem, all of which are listed here.

1)
You stand here before me
With silver spikes on your head
Burnt copper in your eyes
And tears of liquid mercury
Falling from your lids
As you thrust your blade of gold
Into my heart

2)
You stand here before me
With silver spikes on your head
Melted gold in your eyes
And tears of liquid mercury
Falling from your lids
As you thrust your blade of steel
Into my heart

3)
You stand here before me
With silver spikes on your head
Burnt copper in your eyes
And tears of liquid mercury
Falling from your lids
As you place cuffs of steel
On my wrist
And thrust your blade of gold
Into my heart
